The manufacturer of the pastries 'Dulcesol' starts work on its second production center outside of Spain. The food company Vicky Foods has laid the first stone of its production plant in France, a project that has an investment of 79.5 million euros. This figure almost doubles that estimated by the Valencian company a year ago, which was 45 million euros. With this plant, its objective is to supply the French market and other neighboring markets such as Germany, Switzerland, Benelux and Northern Italy.

The Vicky Foods group has its production centers in Villalonga, Gandía and Játiva (Valencia), and since 2014 it also has a pastry factory in Orán (Algeria), from which it supplies its customers in North Africa. The French factory will be used for the production of bakery and pastry. The works are expected to finish in the summer of 2024 and the plant to be operational in the last quarter of the same year.

The new center, which will initially have a total area of 22,900 square meters out of a total buildable area of 75,000 meters, is located in the municipality of Fragnes-La Loyère, in the Burgundy Franche-Comté region, "a strategic area in terms of logistics and infrastructure that will allow the group to be more competitive and offer a better service to its customers", says Vicky Foods in a statement.

The ship will have 30% of the surface built with photovoltaic panels for self-consumption. In addition, it will consist of a 14,300-square-meter production workshop, two warehouses for raw materials and finished products, and office space. The company foresees the progressive expansion of the factory in step with the growth of the group's activity in these markets.

Vicky Foods expects that 80 people will initially join the new production plant and another 40 more at the end of the first phase. In the next stages, the hiring could exceed 250 people as the productive infrastructure of the factory increases.
