The number of fully electric cars and commercial vehicles registered in Poland in the first four months of this year increased by 7,201 units,71 percent more than in the same period of 2022, according to the latest statistics.

The data from the end of April 2023 showed a total of 40,926 passenger and utility fully electric cars (BEV) were registered in Poland, the latest report showed, noting that the fleet of electric mopeds and motorcycles is also constantly growing.

According to the report published on Wednesday, at the end of April 2023, there were 73,695 electric passenger cars on Polish roads. The fleet of fully electric cars amounted to 37,027 units, and the plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) to 36,668 units. The number of electric vans and trucks amounted to 3,924 units, over 99 percent of which were BEVs.

"The fleet of electric mopeds and motorcycles consisted of 17,097 units, while hybrid cars and vans increased to 541,305 units. At the end of last month, the fleet of electric buses in Poland increased to 865 units," the report showed.

At the end of April 2023, according to the report, there were 2,768 publicly available charging stations for electric vehicles in Poland (5,440 points), of which 31 percent. were fast charging stations with direct current (DC), and 69 percent. free alternating current (AC) chargers with a capacity less than or equal to 22 kW. As added, in April 69 new publicly available charging stations (135 points) were launched.

"It is worth noting that in April a record was broken in terms of the number of newly registered electric cars with a GVW of over 3.5 t. More than 30 such vehicles hit Polish roads. This result is pleasing, especially considering the lack of subsidies addressed to buyers in our country cars of category N2 and N3," said Maciej Mazur, the managing director of PSPA, quoted in the report.
