The Russian aggression in Ukraine has been causing the massive damage to the latter country’s economy and society. The largest losses are recorded in industry, infrastructure and business. According to Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), the cost of rebuilding Ukraine may reach USD 900 billion, an amount estimated before the destruction of Kakhovka Dam by the Russian military, which caused flooding of thousands of households, crops and natural environment.

In order to help Ukraine, PAIH is inviting Polish entrepreneurs to join the effort of rebuilding the war-torn country. On June 9, 2022 it launched the Odbudowa Ukrainy (The Rebuilding of Ukraine) project, recruiting the Polish companies interested in resuming exports and participating in the reconstruction. The project’s goal is to help Polish companies in establishing relationships with Ukrainian partners and international organizations, interested in this task.

Ukraine has chosen the "European way," and so the goal is to rebuild the country following the European standards, also in terms of adhering to the currently applicable EU regulations. The priority is to create a modern, ecologically conscious, technologically advanced and EU-integrated economy.

Recently, the first edition of "Reconstruction of Ukraine - Directory of Polish Companies" has been published on the PAIH website. The list of selected companies, which agreed to publicly state their info, is currently only available in Polish, but English and Ukrainian language versions will be available soon.

The Odbudowa Ukrainy project does not provide the direct way of Taiwanese companies to participate, but allows for combining forces with Polish companies, involved in the rebuilding efforts. Taiwanese companies, which are interested in helping Ukraine, are highly advised to cooperate with the Poland-registered partners in order to actively join the rebuilding efforts as suppliers and technology providers.
