Investor from Japan plans to manufacture electronic components in Romania

Tamura Corporation has established a new wholly owned company in Romania to manufacture battery chargers for power tools within the Electronic Components Division in response to growing demand in Europe.

The factory in Romania will be in Fetești-Gară, Ialomița. This will house the production lines of the Electronic Components Division and manufacture battery chargers for power tools. The start of commercial production is scheduled for November 2024.

Under the 13th medium-term management plan, which started in April 2022, Tamura aims to develop its business globally, especially in Europe and America. As part of this initiative, it plans to increase production capacity for modular products in Europe, as well as diversify its manufacturing footprint globally.

By opening a new headquarters in Romania, Tamura Corporation aims to strengthen its presence in Europe and contribute to the development of the country through the production and stable supply of products in the future.

The branch in Romania requested State Aid from the Romanian Ministry of Finance, the value of the investment being approximately 6 million euros. The number of newly hired people is approximately 300. At this moment, Tamura is waiting for the evaluation of the Request for approval for financing sent to the Romanian Ministry of Finance. In a later stage of the company's development, another approximately 15 million euros will be invested.

So far, several meetings have taken place with the Romanian Agency for Investments and Foreign Trade (ARICE, formerly known as Invest Romania), and Tamura appreciates the support provided by ARICE in his endeavor to develop his business in Romania.

Tamura Corporation manufactures and sells electronic components such as transformers and reactors, electrochemical materials such as solder materials and solder masks, soldering equipment and audio mixing consoles for broadcasting stations.

Tamura products have supported various industries and social infrastructures in the form of materials, components and devices ranging from consumer products such as automobiles and electronic equipment to devices in manufacturing plants, renewable energy and aerospace. From raw materials to complete systems, Tamura's technologies have contributed to the safety and comfort of people's daily lives, as well as to the realization of a decarbonized society.

Tamura Corporation is listed on the main market of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
