On October 6, 2023, in celebration of National Manufacturing Day, the Biden-Harris Administration started an extensive, multi-week tour across the U.S. to see how Bidenomics and President Biden's Investing in America agenda are positively impacting communities throughout the country and defying the climate crisis. As part of this tour, President Biden visited CS Wind in Pueblo, Colorado, the world's largest wind tower manufacturer. The company recently revealed its plans to expand its operations and generate hundreds of jobs, as a direct outcome of the Inflation Reduction Act.
CS Wind, headquartered in South Korea, inaugurated its first production facility in Vietnam in 2003. As of 2021, the company has been operating factories in eight countries, including Taiwan. Over the past several decades, CS Wind has delivered over 13,000 towers for major international projects and is now a key supplier of wind towers to prominent industry players, such as Vestas, Siemens-Gamesa, GE, Goldwind, and others.
Located on a 3 million square foot site in Pueblo, Colorado, CS Wind America is the world’s largest tower production facility. Since most of their international clients are based in the United States, this facility plays a vital role in promoting CS Wind’s growth. Earlier this year, CS Wind began a $200 million expansion of their Pueblo facility, which has been made possible thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act’s incentives. This significant investment aims to meet the growing demand for wind tower manufacturing and bring clean energy supply chains to the United States. Additionally, it is expected to create 850 new jobs in Colorado's Third District by 2026. Since the expansion started, CS Wind has already hired 500 new employees, more than doubling their workforce in Pueblo.
Taiwan’s wind energy industry can look to CS Wind America as a source of inspiration and guidance in several ways.
